Museum of the Bible is excited to host distinguished artist, author and speaker, Makoto Fujimura. Fujimura's "The Art of the Gospels" exhibit, featuring his Four Holy Gospels work, is on display at the museum through the end of April. His highly acclaimed book “Culture Care: Reconnecting with Beauty for Our Common Life” addresses the intersection of faith, creativity and cultural stewardship. His lecture will focus on the “Theology of Making,” exploring what God calls Christians to co-create with him.
Speakers
Mako Fujimura
Makoto Fujimura, one of the world's greatest living abstract painters, created his Four Holy Gospels work as a testimony to the beauty of God's love. Fujimura is author of several books including "Silence and Beauty: Hidden Faith Born of Suffering", "Culture Care: Reconnecting with Beauty for Our Common Life", and "Refractions: A Journey of Faith, Art, and Culture." Fujimura served as a presidential appointee on the National Council on the Arts and is Director of the Brehm Center for Worship, Theology, and the Arts at Fuller Theological Seminary.
Joining Makoto Fujimura in a discussion of beauty and creativity will be three guests whose collective expertise encompasses theology, art and business:

Painter, essayist and Professor of Art at Gordon College.
Kate Shin
Entrepreneur, real estate developer, and owner of Waterfall Mansion Gallery in New York City. Her gallery hosts annual exhibits of Makoto Fujimura's work.
