Washington, D.C., September 9, 2019– Museum of the Bible finalized its executive leadership team with two key hires. Joe Foster has joined as Chief Development Officer and Steve Schildwachter as Chief Marketing Officer.

Chief Executive Officer Ken McKenzie said, “Adding Joe and Steve to our team positions us to advance our mission of engaging all people with the Bible, as we now have all key leaders in place.” Other executives leading Museum of the Bible include: Dr. Jeffrey Kloha, Chief Curatorial Officer; Donna Jonas, Chief Operating Officer; and Dave Suey, Chief Administrative Officer.

Joe Foster joins the museum from Marymount University, Arlington, Virginia, where he was Vice President for Advancement. He previously held the same role at Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, Kentucky. Foster holds a B.S. in Political Science from Campbellsville College and a J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law. He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to join Museum of the Bible and expand the possibilities for all people to engage with the Bible,” Foster said. “Having a strong community of supporters is key to the success of our mission. For a museum that’s only been open a year and a half, we have a solid base on which to build.”

Steve Schildwachter is Museum of the Bible’s first Chief Marketing Officer. He joins from BrightStar Franchising LLC, where he held the same position. Steve was also CMO at rVue, Inc., and held leadership roles at advertising agency Foote, Cone & Belding in Chicago. He has a B.A. in English from College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, Massachusetts.

“The founders opened a beautiful museum, with strong academic foundations and a commitment to creativity and technology that adds a new experience to Washington,” Schildwachter said. “We want as many people as possible to experience it and we look forward to making the museum an integral part of the D.C. community.”
